Much of my inspiration comes my own memories. I store timeless images of figures in my life, doing the ordinary. I run them like a film strip that I want to reverse. I paint the narrative so I can "see" what I remember. I begin painting quietly and as I near the end my brush strokes become bold and confident as if to say, "there! Do you remember too?"
I win awards but I'd paint even if I did not.
I teach workshops because passing on the knowledge is irresistible.
